After the noise from examination leakage had gone down a bit, the West African Examinations Council began to correct the errors that nearly dented its image. As a matter of fact, the council has been so careful not to make any mistake again. The council, in its move to curb examination malpractice, about two years ago had introduced an on-line registration system to candidates. It also strengthened its examination monitoring system. It did this perhaps to remove some antics of examination malpractices, which began right from registration point. As a matter of fact, malpractice such as impersonation was removed through the ICT. No doubt, its ICT facilities helped a lot, as candidates did not need to visit the council’s office physically to register for the West African Senior or Junior School Certificate Examinations again.
